"Land of the Stars," a Movie Treatment Written by My Four-Year-Old Daughter During Quarantine

[Act I]

Once upon a time a little baby stood in a mother’s tummy and the momma panda was named Snowscarf. When the baby grew up there was a mean one named Hades, just like in Hercules. The question was, that night it was a dark and stormy night, Hades asked for his helpers, Pain and Panic.

His helpers were the best ones ever, but the question was how to get rid of someone that Hades really loved but didn’t love yet. They pulled out a bottle filled with a potion.

Mother Snowscarf was singing: “Pancake, pancake, make the pancake, bring me the pancake.” Every day she brought pancakes to the little baby, because the baby loved pancakes. Mostly she loved smushing pancakes with blueberries and syrup, but she ate it all.

Everyone wanted to have pancakes too. Mother would give everyone some pancakes. But they all wanted gigantic pancakes, like as tall as a tree. If the little baby ate all its pancakes it would get a special candy egg, because that’s all they had. Sometimes they’d eat candy eggs for dessert. But the baby’s favorite dinner was chicken pea soup with cheese. Every night she ate that.

One last night the baby crept out and jumped onto her horse and sped away. The mother didn’t see that happen. She looked in the bed the next day and the baby was gone! The mommy was heartbroken and they searched everywhere. By the time they found the baby it was too late. Hades stole the baby.

[Act II]

The next morning, a little horse named Pegasus strolled off into the forest having just eaten one drop of a potion. But the potion made her sick so she ran off to the house. Until she got better, she would have to love a girl named Belle. But how would she love a girl named Belle if there was no Belle around her?

So Pegasus went to Snowscarf’s treehouse to ask why there was no Belle. She knocked at the door but Snowscarf thought it was the baby. She opened the door and it was just a Pegasus. “Where is my baby” she asked. “She’s dead.”

Pegasus said “No, she’s stolen. You just have to go off and find her. But don’t upset Hades. Promise?” “Promise.”

So Snowscarf went but Hades saw her. She hid behind a rock filled with some potions. She quickly raced to the baby. She felt Hades knocking at her.

Every day Hades would count on her stealing the baby. But he would catch her. One day his helpers said they couldn’t find the baby so he looked and he couldn’t find her.

[Act III]

Back at the castle, Snowscarf named her baby Glara so that when she went out she would remember her name. But first morning, she was also a weakness girl until the next morning came. [Ed.: am told “weakness girl” is correct term, no explanation possible.] They would take some medicine to the baby that would help her grow. The medicine would turn her into a great big panda. Then they would give something new to the baby.

But before Hades could get to the baby, Pain and Panic stared at him. Hades stared at Pain and Panic. Pain and Panic stared at Hades so he would help the ones that are nice. Then they gave him some medicine that could turn him into a frog.

Everyone waved back at the baby but the baby didn’t want to wave back at them. Every morning she would never wave back, but that was not very nice.

Hades wanted to turn back into a human so he could take over the world and the underworld. The question was how to get rid of Snowscarf. They wanted to get rid of Snowscarf so they could take over the whole world. But the big octopus sank all the boats.

The End.
